Norton Art+ is an augmented reality program that offers a unique interactive experience for each of six artworks at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, FL.

Norton Art+ is an iPad app that invites museum visitors to find and scan six specific artworks located throughout the first floor of the museum. Scanning each work “unlocks” a unique interactive experience. Visitors can embody a Nick Cave soundsuit, drive a miniature version of Claes Oldenburg’s giant eraser, create their own crinkled wall hanging modeled after a Pae White piece. They add their own sculpture to Ugo Rondinone’s garden, drop virtual glass to create a bubble like those in Rob Wynne’s stairwell installation, and find a Danh Vo work’s place in a full-size Statue of Liberty. Each activity produces a take-home image or video, building a “portfolio” that visitors can receive by email at the close of the their visit.
